Change the standard DOS colour palette, using more than 60 that are included in the program.
Console Palette Changer is a utility so you can change the standard Windows console (formerly the DOS prompt) colour palette.
Console Palette Changer has two programs. The Palette Changer lets you preview, edit and save palette files. You can also use your selected palette to open new consoles. You can open as many consoles as you want, and edit individual colours within a palette (all you have to do is click the numbered and coloured square at the bottom of the dialogue box). It is extremely useful when used with colour directory listers like NDIR or Cygwin Is.
Console Palette Changer's second program is a consattr utility, which is much easier to open new consoles with. You can also use it to load an existing palette into the current console via the command line. It has no editing options but you can use it to change the current console
Console Palette Changer is open source, and so you can access the source code, written in C/C++, and modify it as you wish. It can be found on the author's website, and is complete free to use and distribute so long as you include a reference to the author's website in any program you create with it. So what are you waiting for?
NOTE: For Windows Vista and 7 users Console Palette Changer doesn't work, but the utility does.
